HIT Notables
We have two items to discus: both stories have to do with a couple of women who fought their way out of an attempted rape. One was in Pacific Beach (San Diego, CA) a few weeks back. According to the local news, the predator watched her from a car (at night). As she approached, he got out of the car and attacked her - she fought back (I believe she stuck her fingers in his eyes among other things) and yelled. This was enough for the attacker to re-think his actions and retreat. The other notable news story has to deal with an attempted rape a few years back at Miramar Lake (San Diego, CA). Again, the potential attacker went after a female in an attempted rape. The female fought back (from what I understand she lost a few teeth when she bit into him)… the attacker retreated. That same attacker was just caught for public drunkenness in Escondido, CA. They did a DNA test on him and matched his DNA to previous attacks in the San Diego area. Here is an excerpt from the story: “The most recent sex crime attributed to (name withheld) involves a female jogger attacked on Miramar Lake around noon on December 8th, 2006. The victim told investigators the assailant grabbed her and forced her to the ground, but let go when she fought back.”
Important: both females fought their way out of these situations. As I mention in my program, you need fight to survive. Like a predator in the wild, the human predator picks his victims on the basis of whether he can get away with the crime and whether or not he will get hurt in the attack. If you don’t fight back, the attack will occur - period. You need to make the predator re-think his actions. That means you fight back with everything you have: you use your fists, your hands, your fingers, your feet, your teeth - anything you can use to fend off the attack. You do whatever you need to do to survive.
My ‘hat’s off’ to both ladies - we can learn from your actions.
I hope everyone has a safe New Years.
